SERVICES

WordPlay Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) provide school-based speech and language special education services.  These services include consultation, evaluation, observation, intervention planning, treatment planning, case management, teacher in-service, as well as a full array of IEP service.

Consulting

Our Speech-Language Pathologists consult with student support teams to problem solve, determine appropriate referrals for special education evaluation, and create beneficial educational plans and supports for students to improve academic success.



Evaluation

​Our Speech-Language Pathologists conduct thorough evaluations, using the latest assessment tools, related to all areas within our scope of practice including articulation, receptive and expressive language, voice, literacy, writing, and speech fluency skills.

Therapy

Our speech-Language Pathologists provide individualized therapy to each child addressing his/her/their specific communication needs.  Our continuous communication with each child’s support team, including parents, teachers, doctors, advocates, and other therapists, aids in developing our successful therapy program.  Detailed progress reports are provided in accordance to the Minnesota Department of Education requirements. 

In-Service

​Our staff provide in-service training to school personnel on a variety of topics including, but not limited to, speech, language, hearing impairment, specific communication needs of bilingual students, the SLP's role within the educational setting, how we can support the special education team.
