WordPlay is a therapist owned and operated organization that has provided school-based, contracted speech and language services to schools in the Twin-Cities metro area for over 15 years. We provide speech and language therapy in public, private, and charter schools on an ongoing, temporary, or as-needed basis. We provide service on site at schools, allowing us to collaborate and consult with team members.
Service is provided by Speech Language Pathologists (SLPs) certified through the American Speech Language and Hearing Association (ASHA), and fully licensed in the state of Minnesota. We recognize and respect that each school has its own unique culture and mission, and we strive to integrate ourselves into each school as a support to that mission.
In order to meet the comprehensive and varying needs of all students, we continually seek new evidence-based practice treatments related to our field, and pride ourselves in collaborating with team members including general education teachers, Occupational Therapists, Physical Therapists, Social Workers, Parents, interpreters, cultural liaisons, and outpatient therapy staff.
Most importantly, our SLPs integrate fun, play, and learning in a safe and supportive environment. We are enthusiastic about working with children, helping them to reach their full potential at school as well as supporting improved communication at home and in the community.
